Welcome back everyone! Thanks again for joining us. To those of you who are new to our weekly challenge please go here to learn all the details about how this works first. The next five weeks of themes/prompts are at the bottom of my blog. Also, everyone please do us a favor and read this post before entering any photo challenge…thanks!
This week our prompt is Family Portrait. Over the summer I shared some of my tips on how I get all 9 of our children looking at the camera and smiling. The tips are for all photo sessions where you want to capture natural smiles and the inner joy of the people you are photographing. You can go here to read it.
Since our photo session is going to be used for our Christmas card this year, I’m ONLY going to share the bloopers. He he he! Our children were such troopers – it was freezing outside and super windy! Yet, they played along so that I could capture all of them together. I will NOT be editing any of the photos from our super quick mini session because they don’t need it. I shot these with my 70-200mm 4.0L and LOVE them all! I can’t thank KELVIN enough for making every shots WB perfect! Mmmm…hmmm! He is awesome like that!
You just never know what you are going to get when our youngest son is all together with his siblings. HA HA HA! I didn’t notice any of this until I was looking at the photos on my computer

Now I feel bad for them looking at how cold they were! It was super windy and COLD!!!!! I think this took us a whole 7 minutes and we were racing each other to get back inside.

OH MY that photo is epic and will bring a smile to my face many times over the years. He he he!
This month’s give-away for best SOOC is a surprise gift from me
Please remember to add your photos to our good to WOW SOOC group if you would like to be entered into our monthly give-away for the best SOOC shot!
I want to thank those of you who have begun to add your photos to our good to WOW flickr group each week. It has really helped me in viewing your SOOC shots (which means I can judge more entries for each months give-away!) and allows me to stay connected to our group. Please consider joining the group and linking us to your photo in the flickr group! Thank you!
To view it and join – go here good to WOW flickr group – you can upload one photo a week into the group pool. Please name it “week # and photo prompt” to help the group follow along. Thank you!
Are you just joining us? If so, then now is the time to start practicing shooting in M (Manual) or AV (Aperture Priority) mode and getting each shot as close to “perfect” as you can in camera. SO, PLEASE keep learning all you can to capture the best shots in camera. I hope you are inspired by what I share here and from all those who enter our weekly challenge to learn more every month! I love seeing so much growth in many of your shots. This challenge has blessed me in many ways! Thanks for joining in and sharing this journey with us!

EEK! Burr does it look cold with their faces.... Otherwise I would have guessed it to be a warm autumn day! Hehe! These crack me up! Love how you captured the bloopers and their expressions! Priceless!
;-) thanks for the tips on getting natural smiles.... I'll be putting it to use these next couple of weekends with my inlaws annual Christmas pics. :)

I had that problem last weekend - so windy. But the photos are adorable!
Burr do they look cold, but they sure do warm my heart! Your children are just too fun! I can't help but laugh at these. The expressions are priceless!
Love and Hugs to all!

What troopers! They are adorable-
I completely understand about keeping the actual card pic under wraps- we are doing the same. 5th attempt at getting the shoot done happens tomorrow. Praying the Lord gives us a beautiful day to get it done. Those pics will post after cards have been mailed. :)
My vote for the Christmas card is the last one ... it would be way perfect and I know you could think of the best caption :)
Thanks for the beautiful family pics ... and someday I will be joining you my friend on this photography learning curve ... just not yet!
Hugs for your day, big ones,
Sarah
Oh man, look at those faces! I can't believe you even got them all to stand still for any shots!

I love their expressions! The last one is probably my favourite - the wide spectrum of facial expressions makes me want to laugh!
Your photos are adorable! I love seeing them all together! We didn't get a chance to do a family portrait as my husband has been working some looooooooong hours these past few weeks. Hopefully soon we'll manage to all get together!
I'm going to have to read those tips. ;) I have such a hard time getting mine to smile!
