Welcome back everyone! Thanks again for joining us. To those of you who are new to our weekly challenge please go here to learn all the details about how this works first. The next five weeks of themes/prompts are at the bottom of my blog. Also, everyone please do us a favor and read this post before entering any photo challenge…thanks!
This week’s theme/prompt is YELLOW – which happens to be one of absolute favorite colors. It is such a joyful color and just makes me happy. Now before you go any further – I’m giving you a warning now this post is full of YELLOW photos!
I didn’t have a hard time at all thinking of things to shoot for this week’s prompt. First, I set up my new buckets from *Target and filled them with peeps. You got a sneak peak at the set up when Lexi shared her shots of them last week. Well, here are mine. Now I just want to say these will not be the ones I show on Thursday for the edit part of our challenge. You will understand in a minute

Cute – just as they are! Sorry peeps – this is the end of your play here on my blog!
Then early Saturday morning while everyone was still asleep I went outside in the freezing weather and pretended it was summer time. HA! Because I just bought the most beautiful white grapefruits at the store and they were begging to be photographed. Too bad I forgot what I was doing and sliced it the wrong way…ooops!

Don’t they just make your mouth water looking at them? White grapefruits are very alkalizing and healthy! They were a delicious way to start the weekend!
Later Saturday morning while the kids were all outside playing I set up my camera with my new wireless remote and took a few self portraits. Now these are NOT my best SOOC shots, thus they are perfect for this week’s challenge – yellow and they need a little lovin’. Which I can’t wait to show you later this week! I shot these with my 100mm 2.8L lens.

It was early and there was a lot of daylight left for me to play with so after lunch I asked the boys to give me their best smiles and to brave the cold for me. Of course I dressed them in matching yellow shirts

Just after Lilly placed the boys up into the loading dock the door started to open. I explained that I was just about to take the boys photo and they shut it for a few minutes. Just long enough to get the next two shots!

Next stop my favorite old building around the corner from where we grocery shop (you might remember it from here). This next series was shot with my 50mm 1.4 set up on my tripod using a wireless remote. If only you could have been there to watch the cars going by and seeing the faces of our children sitting on the bus watching me do all of this. They had a great time seeing me hamming it up! I was so thankful a few of them were so willing to brave the chilly temps and pretend with me that it was warm!

This old building is so cool! I love it. It sit on a corner in the middle of a neighborhood. I think it is a garage for one of the homes on this old street. I’ll miss this building when we move. I’ll be on the look-out for something just like it, that is for sure!

These two are my favorite from our time shooting. Lexi was by my camera and I saw the yellow car coming and all I shouted was “look, shoot, shoot, shoot!”

How cool!!!! Right?
Like I said in the beginning, this post was going to be full of yellow photos! I still have about 50 photos to look through and then I have to edit all of these. Wish me luck!
I can’t wait to see all of your yellow photos – if nothing else this post hopefully inspired you to go find everything you can that is yellow and start shooting!

Gorgeous images. Love the little bucket shots.
mmmm I love the grapefruit! And they do make me want to run right out and grab some!
I love them all! What an amazing background that building makes! I can't wait until the weather breaks here, so I can find some old barns to use :) Sometimes, living in cow-country has it's pluses!
The selfies, and the ones of your children are great too....love how much fun you are all having!
Love the yellow -- definitely makes me smile and think warm thoughts (with 4"+ of snow and sleet now coming down!). :)
Love the grapefruit shots! So bright and summery!
Your sooc selfies still are cool, even if they're too dark (for now). And isn't that the point -- to know how to get it WOW when it's not the best sooc??? lol!
How nice that they kept the door closed just for a few more minutes for you all!
LOVE the ones by the old blgd!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! The jumping and dancing shots just makes my day!! Look at all that air - and limberness!!! haha!

Love all the yellow - I'm going to focus on haze and sunshine in my editing this week...figured I would build it into the editing side considering all that's lacking on my SOOC side. I used to have yellow walls in my bachelorette pad but now I severely lack yellow in my life.
love all of these you look so cute. and funny how that yellow car drove by.
These are fabulous, I love the grapefruit and the ones by the old building are amazing. Love the yellow car driving by!!
The peeps are crisp and fresh and yellow. They're very nice. But you know me and liking people in shots. ;) The ones in front of the rusty wall are my favorite! And how lucky Lexi caught that cab! You did a fabulous job with your remote. I got one too, but keep forgetting to use it! Nice job!
Lovely photos, as always!
LOVE all the creativity in your yellow shots! Great job!
How you are able to come up with so many awesome shots is a constant inspiration to me. Your shots this week are awesome SOOC, so I'm sure they'll be even more amazing after you edit!
Wonderful photos as always! Love the peeps! And your kids are so adorable!
Love all of these. The peeps are my favs. And I love that you share the settings.
These are all great shots, and very inspiring as I try to get the most use out of my camera. Thank you!
The bunny peeps are so cute! :D
Love the second one of the boys on the loading dock. :D
And the series in front of the old building is really cool! Love the last one - you couldn't have gotten her face more perfectly in that window if you had tried. :D
I love the Peeps! So cute!
An amazing collection there, Jill! LOVE the peeps and that hat. Great job with the selfies.
I always love your photos but I am particularly loving the ones this week! I just love that old building and the fence - and amazing portraits.
These just got better and better -I loved your fun shots with Lexi and that yellow taxi just came at the right moment. Old barns and buildings like that make for great backgrounds.
